The Role:
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and hands-on Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychological pathway within Oviva UK Clinic’s Tier 3 weight management service. This is a clinical leadership role with a focus on:
- Driving performance and clinical outcomes within the psychology pathway
- Providing expert clinical supervision to the psychology team (not line management)
- Being an active member of the weekly MDT and leading BED (Binge Eating Disorder) reviews
- Sitting in the Tier 3 Pathway Squad to collaborate with the Pathway Lead, Dietetic Lead and Medical Lead to drive patient outcomes
- Ensuring evidence-based, effective psychological interventions within the programme
- Contributing to innovation and service development through an evidence-based, digital-first approach
This role is ideal for a highly motivated clinical psychologist with experience in tier 3 weight management/bariatrics, a passion for evidence-based digital healthcare in obesity, and strong clinical leadership skills.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the psychology pathway within Oviva’s Tier 3 service, ensuring best clinical practice and strong patient outcomes.
- Oversee clinical quality and effectiveness, ensuring psychological interventions align with evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to junior psychologists, PWPs and the safeguarding teams (but not line management).
- Review evidence and competitor analysis to inform pathway development and innovation.
- Be an active member of the weekly MDT and lead BED (Binge Eating Disorder) reviews to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Sit in the Tier 3 Pathway Squad, working closely with the Pathway Lead and Dietetic Lead to drive clinical outcomes and optimise service delivery.
- Contribute to service innovation by shaping triage processes and optimising clinical pathways.
- Deliver a small patient caseload to complex patients through remote, evidence-based psychological interventions.
What are we looking for you to bring :
Essential:
- HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist (Doctorate-level qualification)
- 5+ years of experience in weight management/bariatrics (either tier 3 or tier 4)
- Strong clinical leadership experience, including providing supervision
- Proven track record in service innovation and evidence-based pathway development
- Experience working in an MDT, actively participating in reviews and decision-making
- Ideally experience in digital healthcare and innovative service delivery
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Desirable:
- Ideally experience in digital healthcare and innovating service delivery
- Ideally experience of supporting patients on weight loss medications such as Wegovy
Education/Qualifications:
- BPS-accredited psychology degree (or conversion course)
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
- HCPC registration to legally practice
- British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Status (Optional but preferred)
- Evidence of Ongoing CPD to maintain professional standards
