The Role

As a Backend Engineer, you will be key in shaping Oviva’s technology platform, building scalable solutions that empower healthcare professionals and patients. You will:

• Develop and maintain a cutting-edge software platform, implementing new features and enhancing existing ones.

• Scale our technology to serve hundreds of thousands of active patients.

• Take ownership of the platform—from source code to production—ensuring high quality, security, and reliability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional squads (Product, Engineering) to refine technical solutions that drive real impact.

• Fix and prevent issues, conducting thorough root cause analyses.

About You

• Expert on backend technologies such as Java 17+, Jakarta, Quarkus, Kotlin, SQL, or similar.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop scalable solutions.

• Architectural Thinking: Strong engineering fundamentals and a deep understanding of solutions at scale.

• Driven by a strong curiosity in AI and cutting-edge tech, you're hands-on, experimenting with AI-powered tools such as Cursor for coding and optimization.

• Project Managing & Decision Making: Collecting feedback, making roadmap decisions, and implementing features without needing a PM/PO to tell you what to do.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams, with business stakeholders and convey technical insights clearly.

• Strong tendency to automate tasks

• A team-oriented mindset, thriving in an agile environment.
